This track includes two courses:

1. State Licensing

2. Business Essentials

For the first three weeks of the Business Start-Up Track, you will work exclusively on the State Licensing course. In Week 4, you will begin the Business Essentials course, while you are following through on steps in the licensing process.

Ideally, you will complete the steps to licensing at approximately the same time as you receive your state license!

​

Business start-up grants and/or loans are available to entrepreneurs who complete this track.

This track includes two courses:

1. Business Bootcamp 

2. Business Operations​

After you have mastered the fundamentals of child care business administration through the accelerated Business Bootcamp course, you will refine and improve those practices using insights, tools and services available in the Business Operations course.

1. Business Essentials

2. Business Operations​​

The Business Essentials course covers the fundamentals of starting and operating a home-based child care business.​

​

After you have mastered the basics, the Business Operations course provides an opportunity to revisit and improve business administration practices.

Business start-up grants and/or loans are available to entrepreneurs who complete this track.

This track includes two courses:

1. California License Expansion 

2. Business Expansion​​​

After you have been in business for at least 1 year, you can apply for a large-capacity license and learn the skills necessary to expand your business.

​

Topics include legal requirements as an employer, managing staff, steps to incorporation, and identifying business financing.
